Job description

This job requires an individual that is able to operate independently to develop, implement and maintain a complete human resources plan for a family office environment. This environment will involve creating a complete benefit package for both family members and employees of the family’s estates, companies, family office and foundation. The ability to travel a minimum of %25 of the time for the first two years is a must.

Summary of essential job functions
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibility

  • Works closely with the functional business leaders to implement priorities that directly support business priorities.
  • Works closely with company wide professionals to deliver solutions to business problems and resources that help the business achieve its objectives.
  • Implements performance management and annual compensation processes that incentivizes performance.
  • Promotes employee engagement through development, communication and implementation of pro-active employee relations initiatives
  • Builds effective relationships with employees. Investigates and resolves employee relations issues and complaints.
  • Implements programs that foster engagement and sound employee relations
  • Leads Talent Management strategies including workforce planning, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Executes approaches to Leadership Development, assessing leadership, talent management processes, succession planning, and new leader assimilation.
  • Personally assesses leadership skills, develops and coaches leadership.
  • Counsels leadership on matters concerning development of staff.
  • Support organization by implementing team development and organizational change management solutions.
  • Delivers best in class staffing strategies, tactics and staffing process discipline.
  • Ensures fairness and diversity in all practices and is an employee advocate.
  • Provides training and development solutions, focusing on enabling key capabilities.
  • Measures and utilizes key HR metrics to operate by.
  • Works with managers to drive organizational performance and promote valued behaviors.
  • Assures adherence to legal compliance, AAP, union avoidance (already stated above).
  • Knowledgeable of shared services resources, benefits programs.
  • Work closely with family members to ensure individual needs are realized.
  • Have diversified background and the ability to work across diverse environments
  • Configure and manage payroll
  • Set up and manage employee benefit packages
  • On-boarding
  • Employee recruitment and testing

Minimum Requirements

Our ideal candidate will think out of the box, be proactive and take the initiative, have the ability to make quick decisions and work independently, and enjoy a challenge!

  • Minimum 15 years HR experience; ideally working with a family office. A background in technology and manufacturing is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated increasing HR generalist responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, evaluate people, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in generalist HR functional areas.
  • Experience in building highly effective organizations, teams processes.
  • Must have outstanding communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and compliance procedures.
